Conservatory

CLASS OUTLINE & REQUIREMENTS

Conservatory track classes are designed to train students in the art of ballet in a pre-professional, structured, and progressive sequence. It aims to prepare students for the rigors that a professional career entails – even if students ultimately choses to not become professional dancers. The Conservatory Ballet track instills a good work ethic and how to perform under pressure – things that are highly translatable in whatever path a student chooses. Dancers wishing to follow the Conservatory track will be placed in the appropriate classical ballet level, will be guaranteed to be cast in the summer performance, will be given first consideration for lead roles, and will also have priority casting in other performance opportunities (by audition) in NWB productions. Conservatory Ballet Track is only available by audition. Dancers who choose to follow the Conservatory track must commit to training on this track for the entire school year. Conservatory track pricing includes unlimited classes (please see level requirements for minimum classes). Conservatory track dancers are encouraged to add these classes to their schedule if invited to do so. Requirements Fourth Position By placement. Same requirements as fourth position plus conservatory class/rehearsal, variations, and an elective. Fifth Position By placement. Same requirements as fifth position plus conservatory class/rehearsal, variations, pas de deux, and an elective.
